On Wednesday, Kim Jong Un, the General Secretary of North Korea’s Workers’ Party, sent a reply to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had congratulated him on his re-election as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission. In his response, Kim emphasized the close cooperation between the two nations.

The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, featured the full text of Kim’s reply to President Putin on its front page.

In his message, Kim stated that he sincerelys expresses his deepest gratitude for Putin’s warm and heartfelt congratulations on my reappointment to the crucial position of Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

He continued that today, the two countries are closely collaborating to protect our sovereignty and improve the citizens’ well-being through robust mutual support and assistance, characteristic of the alliance. Kim added that he’s confident that the strong relationship and trust between them will undoubtedly guarantee the stability and future-oriented nature of the bilateral ties, powerfully driving the development and welfare of both the peoples.

He further affirmed that Pyongyang will always stand with Moscow. This is the choice and unwavering commitment.

The newspaper also published congratulatory letters from leaders of friendly nations on Kim’s re-election as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who is scheduled to visit North Korea soon, stated that Minsk confirms its interest in actively expanding political and economic ties with Pyongyang at all levels.

Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong remarked that he highly commends the excellent progress in the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and North Korea in recent times. He expressed hope that the relationship between the two countries will continue to deepen and develop in practical and effective ways, benefiting our peoples and contributing to peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.

The newspaper also disclosed congratulatory messages on Kim’s re-election from the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan and the General Association of Korean Residents in China.
