Inventage Lab, a drug delivery platform company, recently presented groundbreaking research on its long-acting obesity treatments, IVL3021 and IVL3024, at the 84th American Diabetes Association (ADA 2026) conference in New Orleans on Monday.
The company’s findings have been lauded for demonstrating a robust correlation between systemic drug exposure and obesity improvement, surpassing mere long-acting technology implementation.
IVL3021, a monthly injectable based on Semaglutide, exhibited clear dose-dependent weight loss effects in a diet-induced obesity rat model. The treatment’s efficacy persisted with just one monthly injection, outperforming the Wegovy treatment group in weight reduction.
Body composition analysis and histopathological evaluations revealed significant fat mass reduction in the IVL3021 treatment group, alongside a trend of decreasing adipocyte size. Improvements in blood liver enzyme and triglyceride levels suggested potential benefits for fatty liver and lipid metabolism.
A critical focus of the research is the potential for long-term maintenance therapy. With obesity treatments often seeing rapid weight regain of over 50% upon discontinuation, effective weight maintenance strategies are crucial.
The study explored a novel treatment strategy, transitioning from Wegovy to IVL3021. Results showed that the IVL3021 transition group maintained effective weight loss until the trial’s conclusion, indicating promising applications for long-term weight management in obesity treatments.
Additionally, pharmacokinetic (PK) data for the next-generation pipeline IVL3024, based on tirzepatide, drew significant attention. Following a single subcutaneous dose, IVL3024 demonstrated continuous and stable drug exposure over a two-month evaluation period, without initial release issues.

An Inventage Lab spokesperson stated that they’re gearing up to advance the clinical development of the long-acting injectable Semaglutide (IVL3021) this year. It also plans to accelerate commercialization discussions with global pharmaceutical companies at the upcoming BIO USA 2026 conference.
