Joshua from SEVENTEEN is set to make another appearance at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) podium.
HYBE’s label Pledis Entertainment announced that Joshua will attend the UNESCO x SEVENTEEN: Celebrating Youth, Creativity and Well-Being Together ceremony at UNESCO headquarters in Paris on June 25 as a UNESCO Youth Ambassador.
The event commemorates the global youth support initiative Going Together – For Youth Creativity & Well-Being, a collaborative effort between SEVENTEEN and UNESCO.
Representing his group, Joshua will take the stage to inspire young people worldwide. UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay will also grace the occasion. The event will be livestreamed on UNESCO’s official YouTube channel.
This marks Joshua’s second time at the podium, following SEVENTEEN’s groundbreaking appearance at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in January 2023, where they became the first K-pop act to lead a special session.
Upon their appointment as UNESCO Youth Ambassadors in 2024, SEVENTEEN donated 1 million USD to establish the Global Youth Fund. This fund supports projects that boost youth confidence and resilience through the arts, develop creative youth communities, and promote mental health among young people. Last year, the group further contributed by donating proceeds from a charity auction held on International Youth Day.
Joshua, who debuted with SEVENTEEN in 2015, has captured hearts with hit tracks like “Very Nice,” “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “Clap,” “Rock with You,” “Hot,” “_WORLD,” and “Super.” The group is set to host their 10th fan meeting, Carat Land, at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on June 20 and 21.
