TWICE member Chaeyoung has personally refuted allegations of indoor smoking and shared her frustration with the situation.

On Wednesday, Chaeyoung addressed her fans through a communication platform, saying that she wanted to stay quiet, but people keep talking about smoking too much. She clarified that it’s not a cigarette; it’s a drink. Take a closer look.

The K-pop star continued that she’s just trying to have a good time, but this is exhausting. She added that with so many people around, does it really think she’d do that openly? Expressing her disappointment, she stated that she’s not that thoughtless.

The controversy arose when videos surfaced on various online platforms showing Chaeyoung at FKA TWIGS’ rave party held at Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).

In the footage, she was seen turning around and bringing an object to her mouth. This led some internet users to speculate about indoor smoking, but these claims have since been debunked.

In other TWICE news, the group is currently in talks with their agency, JYP Entertainment, regarding contract renewals. Following Tzuyu’s decision not to renew, rumors have circulated about potential departures of Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung. JYP has stated that they are engaged in careful discussions. TWICE, who debuted in 2015, previously renewed their contracts in 2022.

Amid these developments, Jeongyeon recently left JYP Entertainment and signed an exclusive contract with Varo Entertainment on Monday. However, TWICE’s activities as a full group are expected to continue as planned.
