Bitcoin Recovers to 63,000 USD as Trump’s Iran Negotiation Announcement Boosts Investor Sentiment
Bitcoin’s value surged following President Donald Trump’s announcement about resuming negotiations with Iran, which raised hopes for easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

As of 9:40 a.m. (Korean time) on Monday, Bitcoin was trading at 90.56 million KRW (about 63,270 USD) on Bithumb, up 0.11% from the same time the previous day.

Simultaneously, global cryptocurrency tracker CoinMarketCap reported Bitcoin at 63,321 USD, a 0.84% increase.

The Bitcoin rally is largely attributed to the anticipated reduction in Middle East risks. On August 2, Trump announced that talks between the U.S. and Iran would take place on Monday afternoon, U.S. time. He had previously stated that he would suspend military operations at Iran’s request and hinted at the possibility of negotiations, including nuclear issues.

Industry experts believe that the resumption of U.S.-Iran negotiations has alleviated concerns about a potential Strait of Hormuz blockade and a spike in global oil prices, thereby improving investor sentiment. However, they caution that institutional investor demand has not yet fully recovered, and with major cryptocurrency firms set to report earnings, market wariness is expected to persist.

Trump Media Transfers 2,628 Bitcoins to Crypto.com, Clarifying It’s Not a Sale
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) has confirmed transferring over 2,600 Bitcoins to Crypto.com. While this move sparked speculation about a potential sale, the company clarified that it was merely an asset transfer for custody purposes, with no actual sale taking place.

According to reports on August 2, a wallet linked to Trump Media sent a total of 2,628 BTC to Crypto.com in two separate transactions.

On-chain analysis firm Lookonchain suggested a possible sale based on the exchange deposit, but blockchain records only confirm the asset transfer without verifying an actual sale.

A Trump Media spokesperson stated that while Bitcoin has been transferred to Crypto.com, it has not been sold.

Former CFTC Chair: Crypto Innovation Will Persist With or Without CLARITY Act
Christopher Giancarlo, former chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), emphasized that the cryptocurrency industry should not overly depend on the passage of the CLARITY Act.

On August 2, Giancarlo stated that while the CLARITY Act would help establish a clear regulatory framework for the digital asset market, innovation in blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency industry will continue even if the bill fails to pass.

He drew a parallel with the internet’s growth without dedicated legislation, suggesting the cryptocurrency industry would follow a similar path.

BitGo CEO Dares Anthropic to Hack Wallet Containing 100 BTC
Mike Belshe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of cryptocurrency custody firm BitGo, has issued a bold challenge to artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic, daring them to attempt hacking a wallet containing 100 BTC.

On August 2, CEO Belshe criticized Anthropic’s recent safety report showcasing the hacking capabilities of its AI model, Claude, challenging them to, Show us your real skills.

Belshe publicly shared the BitGo wallet address holding 100 BTC, confirming that the assets remain untouched to date.

This challenge came after Anthropic disclosed an incident where their AI accessed a real corporate system due to a test environment configuration error. Belshe argued that this was not a genuine hack but rather a security setup mistake, accusing Anthropic of exaggerating their AI’s hacking abilities for marketing purposes.
