SK Innovation is set to showcase its integrated energy solutions at the 2026 World Climate Industry Expo (WCE), featuring a combination of renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Small Modular Reactors (SMR), and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The company aims to present tailored power solutions for large-scale electricity consumers, such as artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, while demonstrating its comprehensive capabilities in energy production, storage, and operations.

The company announced on Wednesday that it will participate in the WCE, which runs through September 18 at BEXCO in Busan.

At this exhibition, SK Innovation will display energy production, storage, and operation technologies designed to address the rapidly growing power demands driven by AI industry expansion. The company plans to offer reliable power supply solutions customized to client needs by leveraging various energy sources, including renewable energy, BESS, SMR, and LNG.

As of late May 2026, SK Innovation has secured a global renewable energy pipeline of approximately 5.3 GW. The company manages solar and wind projects across Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, and its offshore wind farm in South Jeolla Province began commercial operations in May 2025. There are plans to expand its capacity to 900 MW in the future.

The exhibition will also feature BESS technology, which helps mitigate the intermittency of renewable energy sources. SK On has enhanced safety, power operation efficiency, and system scalability through the implementation of predictive battery management technology and pack-level design.

SK Innovation will also highlight its SMR business ventures. The company is collaborating with TerraPower to develop a next-generation SMR ecosystem. Notably, TerraPower’s Natrium SMR, currently under construction in Wyoming, received construction approval from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in March, marking a first for a commercial-scale advanced nuclear power plant.

The company will also showcase its LNG combined heat and power generation capabilities. Leveraging its LNG value chain, SK Innovation is expanding its distributed power generation business to cater to large consumers such as data centers.

SK Group’s AI technologies will be on display, including the AI-based Intel Corporation Intelligent Power Plant, SK Telecom’s AI Factory, and SK Hynix’s High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). These innovations demonstrate the company’s wide-ranging capabilities, from energy production to AI data centers and semiconductor technologies.

An SK Innovation spokesperson stated that to support the burgeoning AI industry, it needs robust energy solutions capable of reliably supplying large-scale power. It plans to deliver customized, integrated energy solutions using a diverse array of energy sources, including renewable energy, BESS, SMR, and LNG combined heat and power generation.
