South Korean dramas Love Next Door and The Frog have made waves globally, ranking 2nd and 4th, respectively, in Netflix’s weekly global rankings.
Netflix’s latest weekly rankings reveal that Love Next Door (written by Shin Ha Eun and directed by Yoo Je Won) achieved 2nd place in the Global Top 10 Non-English TV Shows. From September 19th to 25th, the rankings show that Love Next Door garnered 3 million views and 14.8 million viewing hours.
Love Next Door is a romantic comedy about a woman trying to turn her life around and interacting with her mother’s friend’s son, who represents a past embarrassment. The series stars Jung Hae In and Jung So Min. It climbed to second place from fifth, with 1.1 million views the previous week (August 12–18).
Netflix released all eight episodes of its new series The Frog (written by Son Ho Young and directed by Mo Wan Il) on the 23rd. The series has reached fourth place in the Global Top 10 Non-English TV Shows, with 2 million views and 15.2 million viewing hours.
After its release, the Frog also topped Netflix’s Korean Top 10 series and secured spots in the Top 10 rankings in 16 countries, including India, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This suspense thriller follows the chaos that ensues when a mysterious guest disrupts the peaceful lives of individuals. The cast includes Kim Yoon Seok, Yoon Kye Sang, Go Min Si, and Lee Jung Eun.
According to Netflix’s official weekly rankings, JTBC’s drama Romance in the House ranked 5th. At the same time, the variety show I’m SOLO from ENA and SBS Plus took 8th place in the Global Top 10 Non-English TV Shows, underscoring the growing popularity of Korean content.
