South Korea’s military authorities announced on Monday that over 160 additional personnel have been deployed to the site of the passenger plane crash at Muan Airport in South Jeolla Province.

According to the South Korean Ministry of National Defense, the military dispatched more than 160 personnel to the crash site on Monday, following the deployment of approximately 340 personnel the previous day.

In response to this incident, the military authorities have established a disaster response headquarters and are mobilizing all available resources in response to the accident. On Sunday, the military provided firefighting trucks, ambulances (AMB), helicopters, and other equipment and supplies.

During a regular briefing, Jeon Ha Gyu, the Ministry of National Defense spokesperson, stated, “We are fully prepared to provide the maximum possible support.”

At approximately 9:03 a.m. on Sunday, a passenger plane carrying 175 passengers and six crew members, totaling 181 people, crashed at Muan Airport in South Jeolla Province and caught fire. Only two crew members survived, while all other occupants were confirmed dead.
