Celltrion is gaining momentum in the European market by expanding sales of its high-revenue new biosimilar products.

The company’s growth is fueled by the rapidly increasing market share of new offerings like Omniclo and Aptozma, while its established core products maintain strong positions, bolstering overall performance.

IQVIA, a leading pharmaceutical market research firm, reports that Omlyclo (omalizumab), a treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria and allergies, captured a 30% market share in Europe during Q2 2026. This swift market penetration follows its launch in late 2025.

Notably, Omlyclo secured impressive market shares of 47% and 25% in the UK and Italy, respectively, two key markets within the EU5. Celltrion aims to leverage its first-mover advantage to further expand prescriptions.

Aptozma (tocilizumab), Celltrion’s autoimmune disease treatment, doubled its European market share to 13% in Q2 compared to the previous quarter. It has made significant inroads in Spain and Portugal, achieving 32% and 66% market shares, respectively.

Another autoimmune treatment, Steqeyma (ustekinumab), has gained traction in Italy, winning bids from major regional governments in Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, and securing a 28% local market share.

The Remsima product line, Celltrion’s established flagship offering, continues to dominate the European market. The combined market share of Remsima’s intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SC) formulations reached 70% across Europe and 77% in the EU5. In France, Remsima’s share approached an impressive 80%.

Building on the success of Remsima SC, the world’s first subcutaneous infliximab formulation, Celltrion has further strengthened its product portfolio by introducing a liquid formulation of Remsima IV earlier this year.

In a significant development, Celltrion’s Dutch subsidiary secured a supply contract with a consortium of seven local university hospitals in Q3 2026. Starting February 2027, this group will source all its infliximab requirements through Remsima IV’s liquid formulation.

Yuflyma (adalimumab), Celltrion’s autoimmune disease treatment, maintained its market leadership in the EU5 with a 30% share. Similarly, the anticancer drug Vegzelma (bevacizumab) outperformed the original drug, commanding a 34% market share.

These market successes are translating into strong financial performance. In Q3 2026, Celltrion’s new product line generated sales of 905.8 billion KRW (approximately 677 million USD), accounting for 67% of total biopharmaceutical revenue. Omlyclo alone contributed 320.5 billion KRW (about 240 million USD) in cumulative sales through Q3.

Celltrion is doubling down on its field-centric direct sales strategy, tailoring approaches to each country’s market dynamics and bidding environments. The company aims to boost new product sales to 70% of total revenue by expanding its geographical footprint and supply channels.

The company has pivoted from its previous indirect sales model in Europe, which relied on local distributors, to a direct sales system spearheaded by country-specific subsidiaries and sales teams.

This strategy involves local sales representatives directly engaging with hospitals and healthcare professionals, as well as participating in public tenders across major European markets. This approach aims to streamline distribution, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.

A Celltrion spokesperson stated that the new products, including Omlyclo and Aptozma, are rapidly gaining traction in Europe, backed by the growing success in tender bids. It’s focusing on securing contracts in key markets and expanding the presence in medical institutions. The tailored, field-centric direct sales approach will drive continued growth through year-end.
