Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, has lauded the potential of the United Kingdom’s artificial intelligence (AI) industry and declared plans to boost investments.

According to CNBC, Huang engaged in a conversation with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the opening ceremony of London Tech Week. He emphasized that the UK offers ideal conditions for the growth of the AI industry, describing it as a “Goldilocks” environment. Huang also stressed that the development of AI supercomputers would accelerate the influx of startups.

Huang remarked that the UK is a “perfect” place for investment. He added that the UK’s AI community is world-class, with innovative startups like DeepMind, Wayve, Synthesia, and ElevenLabs flourishing. However, Huang pointed out that the UK lacks its own AI infrastructure, emphasizing that this issue needs to be addressed for the AI ecosystem to take off truly.

On the same day, Nvidia launched a forum aimed at bolstering the UK’s AI industry. The company also announced that AI cloud firms Nscale and Nebius will utilize Nvidia’s GPUs to establish new data centers in the UK.

Meanwhile, the UK recently unveiled plans to relax data center regulations and aims to increase its computing power twentyfold by 2030, as part of its strategy to emerge as a leading AI powerhouse.
