Laser and energy-based medical solutions company Wontech has partnered with a major Chinese medical aesthetics group to strengthen physician training and clinical collaboration in China. The company plans to accelerate its push into the local market by expanding real-world use of key products that have received Chinese regulatory approval.

Wontech said Sept. 11 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Yestar, a Chinese medical aesthetics group, in Shanghai on Aug. 28.

Founded in 2005, Yestar operates 33 medical institutions in 21 cities across China. It has built a network of medical institutions in major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Chengdu.

The two companies plan to combine Wontech’s laser- and energy-based medical device technology and clinical experience with Yestar’s network of medical institutions. Starting with product adoption and clinical applications, they will gradually expand their cooperation to physician training and academic research.

The partnership is already underway. Wontech is demonstrating its 1,927-nanometer thulium laser “Lavieen” and picosecond laser “PICOCARE 450,” both approved by China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), at Yestar medical institutions and providing clinical training for physicians.

Wontech has recently identified China as one of its key overseas growth markets and has been expanding engagement with local physicians. This year, it held its own “Wave” brand events in major Chinese cities including Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Guangzhou to introduce its products and treatment experiences to local physicians.

The partnership with Yestar is significant because it expands Wontech’s engagement beyond one-off events into ongoing physician training and clinical collaboration through a network of medical institutions.

Wontech plans to go beyond supplying products by linking physician training, the establishment of treatment protocols and the collection of clinical feedback. Through this approach, it aims to build local physicians’ experience with its products and clinical confidence and ultimately connect that foundation to academic programs and broader product adoption.

A Wontech official said, “In the Chinese market, it is important to build physicians’ real-world experience and clinical confidence alongside securing regulatory approvals. By combining Yestar’s network of medical institutions with Wontech’s products and clinical capabilities, we will work to expand product adoption and translate it into tangible business results.”
