Deepnoid is expanding its medical AI business by supplying a generative AI-powered chest X-ray interpretation assistance solution to a specialized radiology provider.

Deepnoid said it signed a supply agreement with Human Medical Imaging Center, a radiology specialist, for M4CXR, a generative AI-based solution that automatically generates preliminary reports for chest X-rays.

This marks the first time M4CXR has been supplied to a specialized radiology provider. Human Medical Imaging Center operates eight specialized interpretation centers staffed by approximately 150 radiologists and provides remote image interpretation services to 20 university hospitals and more than 800 hospitals nationwide.

M4CXR is a medical device that analyzes chest X-ray images and automatically generates preliminary interpretation reports covering normal findings and 41 types of chest abnormalities.

It was designated an innovative medical device by South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) in November last year, becoming the first generative AI-based medical device to receive the designation. The product subsequently received formal regulatory approval in June.

M4CXR was previously introduced at three university hospitals, including Pusan National University Hospital, through a government-supported project for AI-based clinical systems at regional responsible medical institutions. In August, Deepnoid also supplied the solution to Pohang Semyeong Christian Hospital.

With the latest agreement, M4CXR’s customer base has expanded from university hospitals participating in government support programs and private general hospitals to a specialized radiology provider.

Deepnoid plans to use the latest deployment as a stepping stone to expand AI applications beyond improving radiologists’ interpretation efficiency to broader medical imaging workflows, including the assignment of cases and delivery of interpretation results.

Deepnoid CEO Choi Woo-sik said, “Human Medical Imaging Center is a hub where radiology workflows are concentrated, from assigning cases to writing reports and delivering results.”

He added, “We will use this as an important point of contact for expanding AI beyond interpretation assistance into agentic AI services that support the broader medical workflow.”

Following its MFDS approval for M4CXR in June, Deepnoid has expanded supplies of the generative AI-powered chest X-ray preliminary reporting solution from Pusan National University Hospital to institutions including Chonnam National University Hospital and Jeonbuk National University Hospital.

M4CXR analyzes chest X-rays and generates draft reports covering normal findings and 41 types of abnormalities.

Last month, Deepnoid signed an agreement with Pohang Semyeong Christian Hospital, marking the first time M4CXR was supplied to a private general hospital.

The company plans to expand beyond image interpretation assistance and develop into a medical AI services company supporting healthcare professionals throughout the broader clinical workflow.

In July, Deepnoid announced plans to transform itself into an agentic AI-based healthcare services company encompassing medical AI solutions, infrastructure, and AI agents. In August, the company completed the MFDS regulatory approval process for AxonFlow, its remote radiology interpretation operations platform.
