SK Biopharmaceuticals’ U.S. subsidiary, SK Life Science, held its 2026 Plan of Action (POA) meeting in Chicago from September 29 to October 1. The company announced on Friday that the gathering aimed to bolster on-site execution and commercialization capabilities to ensure continued growth in the U.S. market.

The POA meeting serves as a platform for sales teams from U.S. pharmaceutical and biotech firms to convene, assess sales performance, analyze market conditions, and outline future strategic plans.

Since the 2020 launch of cenobamate (marketed as Xcopri in the U.S.), SK Life Science has conducted annual National Sales Meetings (NSM) at the start of each year to share sales strategies and targets. The mid-year POA meeting complements this by evaluating progress and fine-tuning on-site execution strategies.

Cenobamate, an epilepsy treatment developed by SK Biopharmaceuticals, received the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for adult focal seizures and hit the U.S. market in 2020.

This year’s POA meeting echoed the “We Will” theme from February’s NSM. It aimed to foster proactive execution and growth among team members while reinforcing the One Team approach, aligning the headquarters and U.S. subsidiary under shared goals and priorities.

The event drew over 160 attendees, primarily from the U.S. sales force. They reviewed first-half results, discussed market shifts, and strategized on maintaining cenobamate’s growth trajectory for the remainder of the year.

Participants also explored ways to expand U.S. commercialization capabilities and prepare for new product introductions and portfolio growth.

This POA aligns with SK Biopharmaceuticals’ long-term vision to evolve its U.S. direct sales system from a single-product focus to a multi-product platform, extending beyond cenobamate’s success.

The company plans to leverage its cenobamate-derived expertise in sales, marketing, and market access to secure new products and optimize its existing sales infrastructure, with the ultimate goal of establishing a global epilepsy franchise.

SK Biopharmaceuticals continues to seek growth opportunities for cenobamate. Plans include expanding formulations, such as oral suspensions, and broadening indications to include pediatric and adolescent patients, as well as those with primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures (PGTC). The firm also aims to consistently identify and acquire new products to drive both individual product growth and overall portfolio expansion.

SK Biopharmaceuticals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lee Dong-hoon emphasized that its U.S.-based sales organization has been the cornerstone of cenobamate’s success. Moving forward, it’ll maintain cenobamate’s growth trajectory while working as a unified team to deliver tangible results in the multi-product strategy.
