Jacob Misiorowski Sets New Strikeout Record for Milwaukee Brewers: What You Need to Know

Milwaukee Brewers’ fireballer Jacob Misiorowski has etched his name in the franchise’s record books with his dominant strikeout performance.

On Monday, Misiorowski took the mound as the starting pitcher for the Brewers in their 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season home game against the Colorado Rockies at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He delivered a stellar performance, pitching 5 innings while allowing just 1 hit (a solo home run), striking out 12 batters, and giving up only 1 run.

Known for his blistering fastball that approaches 105 mph (about 169 km/h), Misiorowski overpowered the Colorado lineup from the get-go.

After a nine-pitch battle to strike out the first batter, Jake McCarthy, in the opening frame, Misiorowski went on to fan the next six batters he faced, including Willi Castro to start the third inning.

This remarkable feat set a new franchise record, surpassing Quinn Priester’s mark of 6 consecutive strikeouts to start a game, set last September.

Misiorowski’s strikeout streak came to an end when Troy Johnston flied out to center for the first out in the third inning. However, the young ace continued his dominance, striking out 12 of the first 13 batters he faced, living up to his nickname The K Machine.

Apart from surrendering a solo shot to Cole Carrigg with two outs in the fifth, Misiorowski’s outing was nearly flawless. He pounded the strike zone, throwing 59 strikes out of his 83 total pitches.

As the Brewers cruised to an 11-2 victory over the Rockies, Misiorowski notched his 11th win of the season against 4 losses. He currently ranks tied for 5th in the National League in wins, while leading the league in both earned run average (ERA) (1.58) and strikeouts (185), making a strong case for the Cy Young Award this season.
