Celebrating their 20th anniversary, the iconic K-pop group Big Bang is set to embark on a highly anticipated world tour. Fans are buzzing with excitement as this marks the group’s first team concert in nine years.
Big Bang will kick off their Coupang Play Presents Big Bang 2026-2027 World Tour XX: COSMOS at the Goyang Sports Complex from August 21 to 23.
This tour commemorates their two-decade journey in the music industry. The group plans to take their devoted fanbase, known as V.I.P., on a nostalgic trip through their illustrious career.
It’s been a long-awaited 11 years since their last world tour. Following their Made world tour in 2015-2016, this marks their triumphant return to the global stage. Moreover, it’s their first group performance since the 2017 dome tour Last Dance, making it a momentous occasion after a nine-year hiatus.
This concert is particularly significant as it’s Big Bang’s debut performance as a trio. After their show-stopping appearance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, where G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung wowed the crowd, all eyes are on their upcoming performance.
YG Entertainment, Big Bang’s management company, revealed that the members have been hands-on in every aspect of the production. From curating the setlist to designing the stage and overseeing the overall direction, the group has ensured that the show embodies their unique Big Bang flair. Fans are especially eager to witness the live debut of their new track “BiiiG,’ their first release in about 4 years and 4 months since “Still Life”.
The concert promises to be a musical extravaganza, featuring top-tier session musicians led by Wow Jones, known for his collaborations with A-list artists like Usher, Post Malone, and Rihanna. Adding to the spectacle, the show will be directed by Mike Carson, the mastermind behind the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, with stage design by Es Devlin, who crafted the stunning visuals for the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.
Following their Goyang performances, Big Bang will embark on a massive world tour, encompassing 33 shows across 19 cities in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia. Additional tour dates and locations are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Big Bang is pulling out all the stops to celebrate their 20th anniversary in style. Since their debut on August 19, 2006, the group has dominated the K-pop scene with chart-topping hits like “Lies,” “Last Farewell,” “Haru Haru,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “Bang Bang Bang,” cementing their status as icons of the second-generation K-pop wave.
Their influence extends beyond Asia, with their extended play (EP) ALIVE becoming the first Korean album to crack the Billboard 200. They’ve also set an unprecedented record in K-pop touring history by drawing a staggering 1.5 million attendees during a single world tour.
As Big Bang makes their long-awaited comeback, industry insiders predict they’ll continue to break records. Their latest single ‘Big’ has already topped major domestic music charts and claimed the #1 spot on iTunes song charts in 24 regions, signaling a triumphant return. On Melon, Korea’s leading music streaming platform, the track set a new record for the highest number of listeners within the first hour of release for any song in 2026, instantly claiming the top spot on the Top 100 and daily charts, proving that Big Bang’s star power remains undiminished.
