HYBE and Geffen Records have collaborated to create KATSEYE, a six-member global girl group that has rocketed to the top of the Billboard charts with their third extended play (EP), WILD.

Billboard’s latest chart (dated August 29), released on August 23, reveals that KATSEYE’s WILD, dropped on August 14, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, the main album chart. This marks KATSEYE’s first Billboard 200 chart-topper since their 2024 debut.

WILD moved an impressive 170,000 album-equivalent units in its first week in the U.S., with 145,000 coming from pure album sales. This sets a new record for the highest weekly performance by a female group since Billboard revamped its chart methodology in December 2015.

The EP’s success extends beyond American shores, claiming the top spot in the Netherlands and Belgium, while securing second place in the UK and France, third in Ireland, and fourth in Germany. The pre-release single “Animal” and title track “Hootie Frutti” are dominating various streaming charts, propelling KATSEYE’s monthly Spotify listeners to a personal best of 38.28 million.

KATSEYE has been on a hot streak, with previous hits like “Gnarly,” “Gabriela,” “Internet Girl,” “PINKY UP,” and “Animal” all breaking into the upper echelons of Billboard’s Hot 100 and the UK’s Official Singles Top 100. Their collaboration “ICONIC BY MISTAKE” with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT also garnered significant buzz.

Riding this wave of success, KATSEYE scored nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year. While they didn’t take home the gold, the group more than made up for it by snagging three trophies at the 2026 American Music Awards.

With their global chart dominance firmly established, KATSEYE is set to embark on THE WILDWORLD TOUR, kicking off in Dublin, Ireland on September 1, before hitting major cities across Europe and North America.
