Samsung Electronics’ latest foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, has claimed the top spot in the foldable category of Consumer Reports, a prestigious American consumer advocacy magazine.
Industry sources revealed on Tuesday that Consumer Reports ranked the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra as the best in the foldable category. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 also performed admirably, securing the second and third positions, respectively.
Consumer Reports is a leading consumer advocacy organization in the United States, renowned for its stringent in-house testing and surveys of actual buyers, which lend it high credibility in the global market.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra achieved a perfect score of 5 points across all display and camera tests, including rear photo and video quality as well as front-facing selfie performance. It garnered praise for delivering accurate colors and sharp image quality even in challenging low-light conditions, while also supporting flawless video recording.
Both the Galaxy Z Flip 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 also earned high marks for their camera capabilities. Additionally, they received perfect scores of 5 points in the categories of Performance and Ease of Use, matching the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Moreover, in the Expected Reliability ratings based on feedback from actual buyers, all models scored an impressive 91 points out of 100, confirming the high quality and trustworthiness of their form factors.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, released by Samsung in March, has maintained its position as the top-rated phone with a total score of 88 points. This rating, based on performance evaluations, reliability, and customer satisfaction, has kept it in the lead since April.
Notably, among the ten performance assessment categories by Consumer Reports, the Galaxy S26 Ultra achieved perfect scores in seven areas, including Display, Rear Camera Image Quality, Battery and Charging, Durability, and Ease of Use.
Furthermore, it has been recognized as one of the best smartphones by leading consumer advocacy organizations across Europe, including Which? in the UK, Que Choisir in France, Altroconsumo in Italy, OCU in Spain, Deco Proteste in Portugal, Test Achats in Belgium, and RAD&RON in Sweden.
