Kim Do-yeon shared her thoughts on spending the year both reuniting with I.O.I and working as an actress.

On the morning of the 8th, director Jung Joo-ri and Kim Do-yeon attended an outdoor stage greeting for “Dora,” an invited Gala Presentation at the 31st Busan International Film Festival, held at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan.

Kim Do-yeon began by reflecting on reuniting with I.O.I for its 10th anniversary this year and subsequently attending the Cannes International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival with “Dora,” saying, “It suddenly hit me that it has already been 10 years since I debuted.”

“Since it was the 10th anniversary, we made a comeback after a long time, and so many more fans than I expected had been waiting for us,” she said. “There was so much energy and love exchanged between us. So this year, our 10th anniversary was a year in which I received so much love and also had many thoughts and experienced so many different things.”

She added with a smile, “So I think this may have been a perfect year, with the people I love and the work I love—all of it coming together.”

“Dora” tells the story of a family that leaves Seoul for a seaside vacation home in the middle of summer. While they are staying there, Dora, who has been suffering from an unexplained illness, experiences love for the first time, and everything gradually begins to unravel. The film was also previously invited to the Directors’ Fortnight at the 79th Cannes Film Festival.

The film is the latest work by director Jung Joo-ri, who directed “A Girl at My Door” and “Next Sohee.” Kim Do-yeon, formerly of the groups I.O.I and Weki Meki, and Japanese actress Sakura Ando star in the lead roles.
