Webtoon Entertainment, the parent company of Naver Webtoon, announced on Monday its participation in New York Comic Con 2026, which took place from October 8 to 11 in the Big Apple.

This marks Webtoon Entertainment’s third consecutive appearance at New York Comic Con since 2024. This year, the company upped its game by setting up two standalone booths, aiming to strengthen its connection with North American fans.

The company’s main attraction was a sprawling 330-square-meter (3,600-square-foot) booth dedicated to webtoons, where they brought the world of the popular series FOG LAND to life. The immersive experience drew in over 50,000 visitors during the four-day event.

Comic Con attendees were treated to a variety of engaging activities, including interactive webtoon viewing sessions, cosplay opportunities, and the chance to snag limited-edition merchandise. Fan excitement peaked during autograph sessions featuring five of North America’s hottest webtoon creators, including POGO, the mastermind behind FOG LAND.

At their second booth, Webtoon Entertainment offered a sneak peek of their highly anticipated Marvel Comics app. Set to drop on November 16, this digital powerhouse will give fans access to over 35,000 comics, featuring both fresh releases and beloved classics from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios.

The event also served as a launchpad for exciting new collaborations. Webtoon Entertainment announced a groundbreaking animation co-production partnership, bringing together its Japanese arm Line Digital Frontier, Japanese production house Hayate, and global animation streaming giant Crunchyroll. This dream team is set to bring fan-favorite webtoons The Remarried Empress and The Boxer to life in animated form.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Webtoon Entertainment Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kim Jun-gu said that the enthusiasm it witnessed at Comic Con from both fans and industry insiders was truly phenomenal. It’s clear that webtoons are making waves, and it’s committed to fostering even more connections between compelling stories and passionate fan communities.
