On Tuesday, Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, attended the opening ceremony of the Onpo Workers’ Rest Home. He had previously criticized its inadequate operations and ordered renovations. At the ceremony, Kim remarked that this is truly a meaningful accomplishment.

The party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, reported on its front pages that Kim attended the completion ceremony of the Onpo Workers’ Rest Home in Kyongsong County, North Hamgyong Province, on Tuesday.

After touring the facility, Kim reflected that he recalls visiting here a few years ago and severely criticizing the state of affairs. Despite bearing a sign designating it as a historic site embodying the Party’s leadership achievements, all areas were uncultured and operations were unhygienic. He continued that now that the renovations are complete, each section is practically and harmoniously arranged, with architectural elements blending seamlessly with the surrounding natural environment.

Page 3 of the newspaper announced the recent completion of a new catalyst production facility at the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex. It proclaimed that the construction of a modern catalyst production facility at this major chemical base has increased domestic production of essential catalysts for fertilizer manufacturing, establishing a stable material and technological foundation.

Page 4 highlighted the role of party cell secretaries. The newspaper showcased exemplary party cell secretaries from various workplaces nationwide, lauding them as pioneers of technological innovation and the cornerstone of social unity.

Page 5 featured an article titled, Let’s Vigorously Promote Development and Quality Competition Among Local Industrial Factories. The newspaper emphasized that progress and breakthroughs stem from competition, asserting that to achieve this, it is crucial to enhance the responsibility and role of workers and officials.

Page 6 reported on European countries’ strong opposition to the U.S.’s announcement of imposing a 10% tariff, starting next month, on nations not complying with its plans to annex Greenland. The newspaper conveyed that foreign news agencies believe European nations will struggle to halt America’s brutal territorial ambitions, regardless of their rhetoric about alliance relationships.
