North Korea held a groundbreaking ceremony for a local factory in Nakwon County.
The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party, reported on February 6 that the groundbreaking ceremony for the regional development project in Nakwon County took place the previous day. Officials from South Hamgyong Province, local workers, and military construction personnel attended the event.
During a resolution discussion, the commander of the People’s Army’s 124th Regiment pledged to meticulously plan and execute construction operations in a scientific manner, following the sequence of processes. The newspaper reported that he vowed to continuously enhance construction capabilities, ensuring the buildings’ aesthetics, functionality, and convenience, thus upholding their role as steadfast defenders and implementers of Party policies and creators of people’s happiness.
Pages 2 and 3 highlighted regional development projects in North Korea’s northwest. The paper noted that following flood damage in the island areas of Sinuiju and Uiju County, General Secretary Kim Jong Un issued directives for the construction of a comprehensive greenhouse farm.
The newspaper proclaimed that the Sinuiju Comprehensive Greenhouse Farm, completed in celebration of the 9th Party Congress, will stand as a model achievement in the era of comprehensive national revival. It exemplifies the grand vision for local development and refined leadership of the esteemed comrade Kim, as well as the patriotic dedication of the civilian and military builders.
Page 4 reported that numerous units had fulfilled their January economic plans. It also announced the opening of the February 16 Pyongyang City Industrial Arts Exhibition.
The exhibition showcased over 280 industrial design projects personally overseen by General Secretary Kim. These included signage and advertisements for residential areas in Hwasong District, as well as comprehensive maps and directional signs for newly constructed medical facilities such as Pyongyang General Hospital, Kangdong County Hospital, Yonggang County Hospital, and Kusong City Hospital.
An article on page 5 titled, Learning, Exploring, and Striving Leads to Achievement, emphasized that neglecting skill improvement, regardless of one’s position or educational background, indicates complacency towards one’s duties. It warned that such complacency would inevitably lead to obsolescence in the current era.
Page 6 featured an article titled, Words Reflect Character. It stressed the importance of language in social interactions, stating that its use of language reflects the cultural and moral standards. When everyone prioritizes linguistic etiquette in their professional and personal lives, speaking with grace and propriety as both creators and beneficiaries of socialist civilization, the society will flourish with a more refined and wholesome way of life.
