On Friday, Qualcomm Technologies unveiled the Snapdragon 7 4th Generation Mobile Platform, its latest addition to the Snapdragon 7 series.

This new offering boasts significant improvements over its predecessor, with a 27% boost in central processing unit (CPU) performance, 30% faster graphics processing unit (GPU) graphics rendering, and a 65% increase in artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.

A Qualcomm spokesperson described it as a powerful multimedia platform that delivers the mobile experience users crave, noting that major global manufacturers have already signaled their intent to adopt the technology.

With its advanced image processing technology, the Snapdragon 7 4th Generation raises the bar for mobile photography and videography.

Gamers can look forward to more immersive action with the Snapdragon Elite Gaming feature.

This platform also supports cutting-edge functionalities like on-device generative AI assistants and large language models (LLMs). In a series first, it incorporates stable diffusion-based image generation, empowering users to create content effortlessly on their mobile devices.

Christopher Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm’s Mobile Handset Division, emphasized the platform’s ability to bring AI-driven user experiences to the hardware level, facilitating easier content creation and user sharing.
