FADU has unveiled its artificial intelligence (AI) data center-optimized Gen6 Controller and announced its FADU 2.0 vision.
At the ongoing The Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) 2026 in Santa Clara’s Silicon Valley, FADU showcased its development roadmap for AI data center solutions, key products, and technology portfolio on August 5th.
FADU 2.0 is a mid-to-long-term growth strategy aimed at bolstering the company’s technological leadership in the data center market as we enter the AI era. The core focus is on developing next-generation controllers to expand influence within the AI data center ecosystem and continuously broaden the product portfolio.
A FADU spokesperson explained that FADU 2.0 isn’t just a slogan. It’s the vision to secure technological leadership in the AI data center market, pivoting on Gen6 mass production and Gen7 development.
In keynote speeches, FADU executives outlined the technological demands of data centers in the AI era and the company’s strategies to meet these challenges.
Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lee Ji-hyo predicted that NAND will play a pivotal role in memory and storage within the rapidly evolving AI data center market. She underscored the significance of controller developers and highlighted the superiority of FADU’s newly launched Gen6.
FADU CEO Nam Yi-hyun presented three key objectives to overcome NAND flash memory limitations: maintaining leadership in the data center solid-state drive (SSD) market, driving AI-tailored NAND-based technological innovations, and providing superior customer-centric support. He emphasized plans to diversify the product line to meet growing AI demands, moving beyond single controllers.
Nam also unveiled plans for the next-generation Gen7 controller, which will feature an AI inference-optimized decode engine for exceptional performance. The company aims to begin providing customer samples in 2028, seeking to gain an early market advantage.
At the event, FADU set up a large exhibition booth to demonstrate its technological prowess. The Gen6 Zone within the booth showcased the next-generation Gen6 controller and complete SSD solutions, boasting more than double the performance of the previous Gen5. Deliveries of the Gen6 controller are slated to begin in the second half of this year.
Nam stated that they’re leveraging this global platform to showcase FADU’s cutting-edge technology and roadmap, aiming to attract new customers and capitalize on growth opportunities. This FMS event will serve as a springboard to further cement FADU’s technological leadership within the global hyperscaler ecosystem that’s building AI data centers.
In financial news, FADU reported Q2 revenues of 73.2 billion KRW (approximately 51.5 million USD) and operating profits of 16.3 billion KRW (about 11.5 million USD). This represents a 23% increase in revenue from the previous quarter’s 59.5 billion KRW (about 41.9 million USD) and more than triple the figure from the same period last year. Operating profits more than doubled, growing by about 111% from 7.7 billion KRW (about 5.4 million USD) in Q1.
