CJ Olive Young has unveiled an innovative mobile skin diagnosis service, allowing users to effortlessly assess their skin condition and receive personalized skincare recommendations right from their smartphones.

This game-changing move expands their experiential beauty services beyond brick-and-mortar stores to the digital realm, significantly enhancing the omnichannel shopping experience. It’s a clever strategy to captivate international customers by offering a popular skin diagnosis service that encourages brand loyalty.

The mobile skin diagnosis feature is essentially a pocket-sized version of Skin Scan, the in-store experiential beauty service. Skin Scan typically uses specialized equipment to capture and analyze skin conditions, then suggests tailored products and care routines based on the results.

Olive Young has been ramping up its experiential beauty offerings since April 2024, starting with the introduction of Skin Scan at Starfield Goyang Town and expanding to other key locations. Late last year, they took it a step further by integrating Skin Scan with the Olive Young app, transforming it into a true omnichannel service. This integration allows customers to access their diagnostic results and personalized skincare routines – previously only available through in-store devices – right on their phones.

With this new mobile skin diagnosis feature, beauty enthusiasts can now check their skin condition anytime, anywhere, without stepping foot in a store. It’s perfect for those who want to keep tabs on their skin health regularly, as users can easily re-evaluate their skin as often as they like.

Using the mobile skin diagnosis is a breeze. After a quick skin questionnaire, users can either snap a selfie or upload an existing photo. The artificial intelligence (AI) then works its magic, analyzing various aspects of skin health including skin type, pore size, pigmentation, moisture levels, oiliness, and wrinkles. Based on this analysis, it serves up a customized skincare routine.

Olive Young isn’t stopping there. They’re planning to roll out even more features to help users fine-tune their skincare regimens. Keep an eye out for upcoming additions like a Skin Change Report and personal color assessments, set to launch later this year.

An Olive Young spokesperson shared that they’re blending the best of both worlds. Users can now track their skin changes daily via mobile, and when they need an in-depth analysis, they can pop into a store. It’s all about providing a seamless beauty experience that adapts to the customers’ needs and lifestyles. It’s committed to continually elevating the omnichannel shopping experience to stay ahead of the curve.
