LG Electronics hosted its LG AI DevCon, a developer conference aimed at showcasing the company’s expertise and achievements in artificial intelligence (AI) based software development.
The two-day event, LG AI DevCon 2026, kicked off on Tuesday at LG Science Park in Seoul’s Gangseo district, the company announced on Wednesday.
The conference features a diverse lineup of programs designed to bolster software developers’ AI-based skills and competitiveness. These include talks on tech trends, exhibitions of cutting-edge AI technologies, and presentations on innovative AI-driven development practices.
More than 1,500 developers from LG affiliates, including LG Electronics, LG CNS, and LG Uplus, are attending both in person and virtually. The event also offers hands-on experiences with state-of-the-art AI technologies from industry giants like NVIDIA, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and LG’s own AI Research Institute.
Attendees will share case studies on leveraging AI to boost productivity in development processes.
LG Electronics plans to discuss its learnings and successes from integrating AI into the software development of webOS, its proprietary smart telelvision (TV) platform. The company will also outline strategies for tackling AI-related security challenges and present frameworks for enhancing the reliability and transparency of AI services.
LG CNS will highlight its achievements in modernizing legacy systems through AI, while LG Uplus will showcase its progress in content creation using conversational AI agents.
The conference’s opening day featured the finals of the LG Prompthon Challenge 2026, an AI service development competition utilizing tools from EXAONE and AWS’s Kiro.
This event is part of the broader LG Spark 2026 festival, running from September 7 to 17, which celebrates AI innovation, technology, and culture.
LG Spark, launched after the 2018 opening of LG Science Park, has evolved into a major annual event. It combines various tech showcases from LG affiliates into a comprehensive program spanning science, culture, and the arts. Last year’s event drew over 60,000 participants.
This year’s lineup includes the LG Tech Fair, showcasing new technologies from LG affiliates; the LG AX Fair, highlighting AI transformation achievements; and the LG AI Talk Concert, presenting the AI Research Institute’s vision and real-world applications.
The festival will conclude with Culture Week, a celebration of AI innovation that brings together aspiring AI professionals, LG employees’ families, and local community members.
