AITRICS, a leading medical artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on Wednesday that it showcased the clinical value and real-world applications of its AITRICS-VC (VitalCare) solution during a lunch symposium at the 46th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine. The event took place from April 30 to May 1 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO) in Busan.
VitalCare is an innovative AI solution that analyzes electronic medical record (EMR) data to predict the risk of critical conditions such as sepsis, cardiac arrest, and mortality in their early stages.
During the conference, AITRICS not only presented at the lunch symposium but also operated an exhibition booth to demonstrate the clinical utility and real-world applications of VitalCare.
The first day’s lunch symposium featured Professor Lee Yeon-joo from Seoul National University Bundang Hospital as the moderator, while Professor Ko Ryung from Samsung Medical Center delivered a presentation on Strategic Sepsis Management Using AI.
Professor Ko emphasized that in clinical practice, determining the optimal intervention timing for sepsis cases is often challenging. VitalCare serves as a valuable clinical partner, supporting healthcare professionals in their decision-making process.
On the second day, Professor Kim Jae-hoon from Busan National University Hospital moderated the session, and Professor Kim Gi-hoon from Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital presented on Clinical and Operational Improvements Through AI-Based Rapid Response Team (RRT) Implementation.
An analysis of the rapid response team operations at Haeundae Paik Hospital revealed that VitalCare effectively identifies high-risk patients before acute severe events occur, such as death, intensive care unit (ICU) transfers, or cardiac arrest. Notably, it achieves this with fewer alerts compared to traditional early warning scoring systems.
AITRICS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kim Gwang-jun reflected on the conference, stating that it was incredibly rewarding to share the tangible impacts VitalCare has made in real clinical settings, from enhancing sepsis management to optimizing rapid response team operations.
