Son Heung-min of Los Angeles Football Club (LA FC) has earned a spot in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Week 17 Best XI after finding the back of the net in two straight games.

The league office announced its top performers for Week 17 of the 2026 MLS season on Friday.

Son played a pivotal role in LA FC’s 3-1 home victory over Salt Lake on Thursday, notching a goal and an assist while also forcing an own goal.

Deployed as the spearhead of the attack, Son broke the deadlock in the 11th minute with a clinical left-footed finish after a mazy run.

He then turned provider in the 40th minute, delivering the secondary assist for Dennis Bouanga’s goal. This marked Son’s 10th assist of the campaign, propelling him to the top of the league’s assist chart.

With his team already up 2-0, Son’s influence continued in the 23rd minute of the second half when his incisive cross during a counterattack led to an own goal, capping off his involvement in all three of LA FC’s goals that day.

Joining Son in the Best XI were Luis Suárez of Inter Miami and Antoine Griezmann of Orlando City.

In the absence of teammate Lionel Messi, Suárez stepped up with a brace to guide Inter Miami to a thrilling 3-2 win over the Chicago Fire.

Griezmann made an instant impact in his MLS debut, finding the net in Orlando’s commanding 4-0 victory against San Jose.
