Boy group TWS is making waves with their new hit “Soda Soda.”
Oricon’s latest chart (dated August 3) released on Tuesday reveals that TWS’s second Japanese single “SODA SODA” topped the Daily Single Ranking with an impressive 161,253 copies sold on its first day. This single-day sales figure has already surpassed the first week’s sales of TWS’s Japanese debut single from last year, which moved about 150,000 units.
The title track “Soda Soda” quickly climbed Japan’s Line Music real-time Song Top 100 chart upon release and secured the 12th spot on the K-pop Top 100 as of Monday.
TWS celebrated their new release with a public event at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza on August 4, drawing over 10,000 fans. The group’s packed schedule continues with an appearance on Fuji TV’s music show “STAR” on August 6, followed by performances at the Mezamashi WANGAN Festival on August 7, and Japan’s premier music event, Summer Sonic 2026, on August 14 and 16.
TWS, who debuted in January 2024, has been steadily building their fanbase with hits like “Nice to see you again,” “Countdown!,” “Plot Twist,” and “If I’m S, Can You Be My N?” They dropped their fifth mini-album NO TRAGEDY in April, maintaining a strong promotional presence.
The group is now setting its sights on the global stage, kicking off their first Asian tour. The tour itinerary includes stops in Fukuoka (August 28-30), Hyogo (September 4-6), Kanagawa (September 12-13), Macau (September 19-20), Bangkok (September 26), Singapore (October 10), and wraps up in Kaohsiung on October 24.
