Xdinary Heroes’ leader and drummer, Gun-il, is departing from the band.
JYP Entertainment, the group’s agency, issued a statement on Thursday, saying that it has carefully considered the gravity of the situation regarding Gun-il and engaged in thorough discussions with the artist from multiple perspectives. As a result, they’ve concluded that it’s no longer viable for him to continue as part of the team, and they’ve mutually agreed to terminate his contract.
The statement continued that it regrets to inform that Gun-il has left Xdinary Heroes and will be concluding his activities with the group. It sincerely apologizs to the fans for this unexpected news.
The agency further noted that Xdinary Heroes will proceed as a five-member group moving forward. It’s committed to providing comprehensive support to ensure the remaining members can focus on their musical endeavors without disruption.
The announcement follows recent controversy sparked by an online post from an individual, identified as A, who claimed to have dated Gun-il. A alleged that Gun-il repeatedly spoke negatively about fans and expressed dissatisfaction with performances and the agency.
Xdinary Heroes, a six-member boy band, made their debut in 2021. They have released several tracks, including “Freakin’ Bad,” “Break the Break,” “Test Me,” and “Night of Fireworks.”
