North Korea reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Russia on the second anniversary of signing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty with its neighbor.
The Workers’ Party’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published an article on its second page on June 19 titled, The Power of the North Korea-Russia Alliance Is Being Demonstrated More Strongly. The piece reflected on the treaty signing ceremony between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party, held on June 19, 2024.
The newspaper proclaimed that the treaty signing between our two nations is a shining result of the unwavering will and resolve of both leaders to elevate the traditional friendship into a genuine alliance and strategic partnership founded on self-reliance and justice.
It reported that over the past two years, based on this new treaty, unprecedented communication between the countries has intensified across comprehensive domains including politics, economy, culture, defense, diplomacy, and security. This has led to meaningful achievements that align with the interests of both peoples.
The front page promoted the party’s People-First ideology and lauded Kim’s leadership. It emphasized that the esteemed Comrade Kim is an extraordinary leader who has secured a decisive guarantee for the party’s revolutionary character and essence as the people’s party, ensuring its continuity for centuries to come. The party’s cause, firmly inherited and with a bright future, is invincible.
Page three highlighted active progress in housing construction at the Hwasong District Stage 5 site. It specifically noted that the Myohyang Trade Bureau has implemented efficient construction methods and is training skilled workers, achieving the goal of erecting housing structures in just over 40 days.
The fourth page reported on the National Biotechnology Sector Presentation Conference, held from June 16 to 18, organized by the Central Committee of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology. Over 30 officials, scientists, technicians, and doctoral students from institutions such as Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, and the Agricultural Science Institute participated.
Page five forecasted an earlier-than-usual rainy season due to the El Niño phenomenon. It urged that current circumstances demand that it mobilizes all resources to swiftly complete wheat and barley farming. The article also stressed the importance of preventing grain loss during harvest.

The newspaper promoted that this program offers texts, illustrations, and various photo commentaries to help establish appropriate clothing culture, accessible anytime and anywhere.
Additionally, the newspaper reported on the development and dissemination of other programs, including the socialist lifestyle explanation program Hundred-Year Covenant 1.0 and the socialist lifestyle guideline explanation program Home 1.0.
