This year, artificial intelligence (AI) takes center stage at the ‘BIO International Convention 2026’. While previous years focused on introducing AI technologies, the spotlight has now shifted to validating real-world business outcomes.

The discussions are expected to revolve around AI’s impact on drug development, including how it has shortened candidate discovery timelines and improved the efficiency of clinical trial design and patient recruitment.

Celltrion (068270) is actively leveraging AI technology to expand its business and explore global collaboration opportunities. At the ongoing BIO USA event in San Diego, the company has drawn significant attention with its AI-driven drug development platform and advanced data analysis technologies.

This year, Celltrion strategically positioned itself in the AI Zone, showcasing its key operations and future growth strategies.

A Celltrion spokesperson noted, “While each company has its unique focus, our presence in the AI Zone naturally led us to highlight our AI-based drug development and platform technologies. The atmosphere here encourages all participants to engage in AI-related discussions.”

At BIO USA this year, technologies integrating AI across candidate discovery, clinical development, and data analysis were widely featured as key exhibition content. The industry views AI as a critical tool capable of improving R&D efficiency and significantly shortening drug development timelines.

Celltrion is promoting AI initiatives while continuing to highlight its core business.

The official added, “Celltrion’s core business is biosimilars,” noting that the company is simultaneously showcasing product competitiveness as well as ongoing R&D activities related to pipelines such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).

Recent overseas manufacturing facility acquisitions and expansion strategies were also key topics. Celltrion has strengthened its global production capabilities through the acquisition of its Branchburg facility in the United States and is also drawing attention for potential CDMO business expansion.

Participation in the event is not limited to corporate promotion. Celltrion is also actively seeking companies that can create synergies with its business and generate collaboration opportunities, with more than 120 scheduled meetings.

The official emphasized, “AI is an inevitable area of growth not only in biotech but across all industries,” adding that “at this event, we are holding various discussions with companies that can apply AI technologies to our business areas.”
