The Workers’ Party of Korea’s official newspaper, Rodong Sinmun, published a front-page editorial on Thursday titled, Let All Citizens Become Revolutionary Guardians and Class Vanguards Armed with Anti-Imperialist Consciousness. The piece argued that to prevent a recurrence of the events from 76 years ago, the nation must possess formidable power to deter aggressive adversaries. It underscored the need to intensify anti-U.S. and anti-imperialist class education, while continuing to bolster national defense capabilities and ideological training for the younger generation.
Page 2 highlighted Kim Il Sung’s decisive order for an immediate counteroffensive on June 25, 1950, focusing on the state-sanctioned publication Kim Il Sung’s Victory. North Korean propaganda portrayed this as an unprecedented miracle in military history, emphasizing Chairman Kim Il Sung’s leadership prowess.
The third page featured an analysis of party organizational work, stressing the importance of harnessing the masses’ unlimited potential and cultivating ideological spirit as the cornerstone of party activities. It cited examples from industrial sites like the Yongseong Machinery Complex and Sangwon Cement Complex, claiming that ideological work directly contributed to production achievements.
Page 4 presented numerous heroic accounts from the Fatherland Liberation War. It highlighted the sacrifices of war heroes such as Jang Tae-hwa, Han Gye-ryeol, and Kim Gun-ok, and battles like the Jumunjin Naval Battle, asserting that their unwavering loyalty to the leadership and homeland was the driving force behind their victories.
The fifth page reported on wheat and barley harvests and threshing operations in North Pyongan Province. It provided examples from regions including Seoncheon County, Dongrim County, Unsan County, and Jeongju City, stating that they completed harvesting and threshing at optimal times while simultaneously preparing for subsequent crop planting. This section uniquely emphasized agricultural production achievements.
An editorial on page 6 claimed that the U.S. imperialists were the instigators of the Korean War, asserting that America had long planned and deliberately provoked the conflict.
