Is Jang Won Young’s star power fading? The IVE member has topped the list of celebrities whose popularity has taken a hit due to airport etiquette controversies.
On Tuesday, popular online community DC Inside released the results of a poll asking, Which star’s likability has dropped due to airport misconduct?
Out of 37,208 total votes, Jang Won Young secured the top spot with 8,892 votes (24%). As a member of the rising girl group IVE, she had been widely adored for her quintessential idol image. However, recent allegations of preferential treatment during airport security checks sparked public backlash. Adding fuel to the fire, she later appeared at the airport without her usual hat and mask, drawing further scrutiny.
Former Girls’ Generation member Jessica came in second with 5,851 votes (16%). The solo artist and entrepreneur, who has been active in Chinese media, recently faced criticism after a video circulated showing her appearing to gag while passing through fans at a Chinese airport. Jessica later took to social media to clarify the misunderstanding.

BLACKPINK’s Jennie ranked third with 5,741 votes (16%). The globally popular idol previously stirred controversy when she covered her face at the airport while attending the Golden Disc Awards. Critics accused her of disregarding international fans. Despite the past incident, Jennie has been making waves on the festival circuit following the release of her debut solo album.
Rookie girl group Heart to Heart, from powerhouse label SM Entertainment, landed in fourth place. The group has faced criticism over their airport travel arrangements and what some perceive as excessive security measures since their debut.
Actor Byun Woo Seok rounded out the top five. He drew flak for his security team’s allegedly overzealous handling of fans at a crowded airport.
In sixth place was Cortis, who recently made headlines when their delayed boarding of a flight from Paris to Incheon reportedly caused the entire plane’s departure to be postponed.
